Giulia started her lab in 2014 after working at the University of California, Berkeley as a postdoctoral researcher and completing a PhD at Oxford University.

She is part of the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology (ISMB) jointly between Birkbeck College and UCL.

The lab moved to the Crick in June 2023.
