Eric Jong

Postdoctoral Fellow

Eric completed his PhD with Dr. Andras Nagy at the University of Toronto in 2023. His thesis focused on developing a combined cell and gene therapy to treat retinitis pigmentosa. In the Nagy lab, he contributed to other projects that used this platform to create therapeutic strategies for arthritis, pulmonary diseases, and COVID-19. He also studied methods that can be employed to ensure cell therapy safety and to prevent allogeneic cell rejection.

In the Bonnet lab, Eric aims to gain a deeper understanding of the development of acute myeloid leukemia by implementing his experience in stem cells and genetic engineering.
