David Riglar

GROUP LEADER - SATELLITE

David Riglar uses synthetic biology approaches to engineer gut microbes as tools to detect, understand, and treat gut disorders. He has pioneered the development and application of stable, robust engineered bacteria as in situ sensors of inflammatory conditions within the gut.

Since 2019, David has been a group leader in the Department of Infectious Disease at Imperial College London as a Sir Henry Dale Research Fellow and Lecturer. In 2022, he joined the Crick Institute as a Satellite Group Leader.

Prior to this, David was a Human Frontier Science Program and the Australian NHMRC/ RG Menzies Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School. He completed his PhD at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (University of Melbourne) as a Pratt Foundation Scholar.
