Christoph joined the Quantitative Stem Cell Biology Lab at the Crick for his PhD after finishing his medical studies in Basel with internships at Cambridge, Oxford, Caltech and Stanford.
With a foundation in medicine and biomedical research, he has developed a deep interest in how individual cells interpret and integrate complex signals to acquire stable identities.
In the lab
Christoph is currently integrating genetic modifications and developmental models to dissect the gene-regulatory mechanisms that ensure robust cell-fate maintenance during the earliest stages of human embryogenesis.
Outside of the lab
Frequently spotted refuelling on a flat white at Roehampton Gate Café - fully recharging endurance and morale, one sip at a time.
Superpowers
The Healer: Can mend a broken experiment (and occasionally a broken spirit) with just the power of a well-timed pipette flick.
