This beginner’s course is ideal for anyone with minimal or no experience of flow cytometry, who wishes to gain a basic understanding of its technical aspects. This includes how the machine works, how it affects your experiments and how to analyse the resulting data.
Across two days of classroom-based theory, held at the Francis Crick Institute in London, our expert trainers will also explain the fundamentals of fluorophores and how to choose them, panel design, sample preparation and experimental design.
The course has been developed by scientists from the Crick’s Flow Cytometry science technology platform (STP), which provides high-quality cell analysis and sorting services to research groups across the institute.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Explain the basics of how a flow cytometer works
- Describe the key properties and uses of fluorophores
- Develop an experiment utilising multiple fluorophores
- Describe the principles of sample preparation
- Understand how experiments are set up
- Analyse data using FlowJo software
