Aleksey Chudnvskiy's long lasting interest in innate immunity started when he worked as a technician with Dr. Filip Swirski at Massachusetts General Hospital at the Harvard Medical School, where he studied the role of myelopoiesis in cardiovascular disease.
Aleksey then went on to complete his PhD in Dr. Miriam Merad’s laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, where he explored the role of the innate immune system in shaping host-microbial interactions. He also examined the role of dendritic cells in priming antitumour T cell mediated immunity.
He then joined Dr. Gabriel Victora’s laboratory at The Rockefeller University, focusing on the role of antigen presentation in mediating antitumour immunity and employing Labelling Immune Partnerships by SorTagging Intercellular Contacts (LIPSTIC) technology to record cell-to-cell interaction history between immune and tumor cells.
In March 2024, Aleksey became an Early Career Group Leader at the Crick Institute.
