Adam obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge in the Melville Laboratory for Polymer Synthesis in 2010.
Adam then pursued postdoctoral research at the University of Nottingham with Professor Morgan Alexander and Professor Martyn Davies. Here he developed high-throughput screening methodologies to discover new biomaterials for stem cell interactions.
Adam was awarded a Marie Curie fellowship to work with Professor David Mooney at Harvard University in the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. Here Adam developed surgical adhesives and dental resins to repair and restore tissues.
In 2017, Adam established his laboratory in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2022.
