Course info

This one-day course is aimed at beginners with no previous practical experience of flow cytometry, who have an understanding of the underlying theory and principles. It is a follow-up course to ‘An introduction to flow cytometry’

Participants will gain hands-on laboratory experience at the Francis Crick Institute in London, guided by expert trainers on how to set up the machine, run an experiment, analyse the results and troubleshoot.

The course has been developed by scientists from the Crick’s Flow Cytometry science technology platform (STP), which provides high-quality cell analysis and sorting services to research groups across the institute.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • describe and use the key features of the software
  • perform quality control (QC) and know what to look for
  • set up an experiment on a flow cytometer
  • run an experiment with multiple fluorophores
  • understand and apply compensation
  • analyse the data

This training is limited to 12 delegates. Candidates are required to apply by completing the registration. Applications will be reviewed by the lead educators and successful candidates will be invited to register. Registration fees are £410; discounted registration fees of £328 are available to staff and students from Imperial College London, University College London and King’s College London.
